Jeanne Rose: Happenings!

After finishing my music CD, "Garden of Life", so many things have taken place, all of which have kept me off stage, at home, or in the garden. I am anxious to get out and perform for the many who support my music, and song. Yes, finally I am bringing my album to the island, for the many who keep asking me, "did you really finish your album?" :) I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be in this concert, and will enjoy seeing you there, as well as all my island friends, who I have missed dearly. Well the new year is here and I can't believe that 2010 is gone and behind me. I am married now, and happily so. My music has been on hold
for a while, and I am recovering from some surgery but things are looking good these days. I can't wait to start writing some new songs as well as
working on some that I have in my pocket now. I hope to be back on track here this next couple months and I hope to see all your happy faces
out there. I have missed the music, the song, the people and all of my music friends this past year.

I cant' belive it, my cd is going to be here any day now, and after five years of waiting, trying, failing,learning, doing, over and over again I stumbled and got up to find another song done and on the album.

I especially want to thank David Denz who helped me each and every step of the way. Little did he know how much my life is in a so called TWIRL, as it is so hard to keep focused, but he was determined and it never ended, he was relentless as helping me to get this album done and completed.

I also want everyone to know that Chris Glanister(Shoestring Studios, Edmonds) and his wife Jan played an important roll in my making of this album. I spent ENDLESS hours, over three years worth in their home, recording, listening,drinking Jan's nummy tea, laughing, and sometimes crying.Their dog also a big help, always there to pet and hug should I just need a break from it all. He loved coming in right at the wrong moment with his dish, standing quietly next to Chris as he finished my take once again. He just wanted to eat, even if he just ate! Great dog!

This album was something I felt I would fail creating, as the time frame seemed endless. I was a newbie at heart. Little did I even know how to sing in a mic, let alone record myself. I hadn't a clue as to what I was in for. Chris's generosity, and kindness with my firts efforts was a blessing and one I won't ever forget. He lt me start over, again,and again, and again, all with a smile...and sometimes a bit of laughter. That really helped me out. His working with David Denz seemed to be my ticket for a finished product.

Many things or walls would occur, like my Dad, Jim Hughes getting ill and later he passed away, a sad time for me. Then came another surgery, hernia surgery, one I didn't plan on, a couple times I moved from one place to another, a divorce that seemed to linger for months if not years. Then most of all, the loss of my Mother, Patricia Hughes. She was a big fan of my making of this album so the dedication wen to her. She was the Mother of eight kids, I being number six. Colleen, Jim, Kevin, Tim, Annie, Cathy and Jack. Little did she know how many of us would love music and song.I think it was the dream of being what I loved, and I think she instilled the words to NOT QUIT and to do what I loved, for then one can be happy. I miss her dearly.

I also want to mention I had much help as far as musicians who gave their time freely and spent hours practicing in order to help out on a track, or more. I asked my Brother Tim if he could perform on my album when he was trying to produce his own. He didn't have time or the energy at that moment, but said yes, due to his belief in my dream of this album coming to life. Tim, said he was not a lead guitarist,but he soon became one, for me. I treasure the love of my brother.

Oh to have it done is a great thing in my eyes, and I hope you all enjoy it!

In progress with the Proofs from Disc Makers.So far I have not been happy with them. This is holding up my cd production and packaging...so I am getting pretty anxious. They are supposed to send me the third set of proofs today, if all is right, I will give them to go ahead and they have offered to rush order them for me, due to the wait.I am so anxious and emotional about this being done...so my anxiety is getting the best of me. Today, just cross your fingers! If all is good to go today, maybe I will have them for you next week! Yes! I can't wait...I am holding my breath while hoping not to pass out! :)

Hello, once again, I am troubled by the fact that my wedding planning and all the work to put on a wedding, has kept me away from my music and packaging of my cd. I am thrilled to say I am now married and happy to be the wife of Dick Leathers.

I am hoping next month will allow me to send for my music CD and have it soon in your hands. It has been a long haul and a long wait, not only for me but for each of you who has supported this music adventure.

Dick and I married on August 16th, a beautiful day with friends and family. The wedding was beautiful and very special to us both. I will soon post some photos that our wonderful photographers took for us. David and Steve were great as you will see when the photos are posted.

Well, bless you all and hope to see you out and about in Seattle and on Bainbridge Island. I won't make promises as one never knows what may keep me from getting my CD out and in your hands. I will say, I can't wait and the wait has been much too long.

Billy and Susan sang What a Wonderful World at our wedding, they are becoming one as they perform together and I believe they will go far with their music. Together, they shared their joy of music and song at the wedding and I loved every minute of it. I hope to have a video from someone that attended our wedding. Maybe my photographer has a video of your performance so I can keep it on line here.Everyone loved you!

The girls shared the song,"Blue Skies" at our wedding, wow! I hope to post a video of this soon. I believe that their love of song touched everyone at the wedding. I continually get compliments on their beautiful !oices.

Thank you Em, Carol and Susan, you are loved. I am so happy you are all in my life, and that you were a part of my wedding day.

Sing On!

Today I married Dick Leathers, one who has been in my life now for over five years. He is a good man, solid and true and with a bit of Rock and Roll to keep my life alive. I am so very happy to have a husband I can trust, one who look out for my well being, and who creates a world where I can grow, learn, and develop my love of song and music.
Dick you are the best!

Garden of Life is now mastered, we are in the process of design and packaging, so will keep you all posted. I can't wait to share it!
