Jeanne Rose: Song Lyrics
Morning Gift

Morning Gift was written on Saint Patrick's Day for my Dad, "Big Papa". James Hughes, the man who gave me the 7 siblings that I so love today. My dad is Irish, one hundred percent, that is what he has told us when we were very small and on until adulthood. I like to believe that he was pure Irish in every way. He and his siblings treasured being Irish and there was never a Saint Patrick's Day that slipped by without him in GREEN. I remember when he dyed his hair green one year( what little hair he had), and wore green Shamrock socks with green Kelly Green Converse high top shoes. He also wore his Irish hat and green Shamrock suspenders and I have to say, he looked very Irish! :) I am sure all who knew him will long remember those days.
My dad hadn't been well for some time and one Saint Patrick's Day morning I woke thinking of him and I knew he wasn't going to be here with us much longer. This song was my Morning Gift for him, one that touched him deeply.
I miss my Dad, and each Saint Patrick's Day brings that morning back to life. I wish he could be here to see that his song made it to the album.
I love you Dad, this ones for you!
Morning Gift
Sing to me, sing to me
Sing to me, sing to me
Outside the cedars dance for me
The frost it melts, the moon now sleeps
Alive this morning oh so sweet
This gift of magic for us all to keep
Sing to me, sing to me
Sing to me, sing to me
Outside is where I long to breathe
Among the waking of this thing they call spring
Wrapped warm beneath my quilt of love
This is what my morns made of
Love and me, love and me
Love and me, love and me
(Instrumental)
Outside I wish to share with you
Arise this morning as the birds sweetly sing
Oh, wake so softly from your sleep
And share this gift, this gift of spring, with me
Share with me, share with me
Share with me, share with me
Outside the cedars…
